Fever: Artists Books 1993-2012, Kitty Owens

Elle McPherson famously said,” I only read what I write myself”.  Melbourne artist and museum curator Kitty Owens has created her own mini library of artists’ books, covering a range of topics.

Created in bursts over a period of almost 20 years, the books include personal reference books such as The Rules of Attraction, a traditionally bound handmade book, as well as First Draft; an unpublished manuscript, each page screwed up, which fills a display case like an exploded book.

Kitty’s artwork draws on the language of history, science, and museology. Her artwork contemplates life, love, medicine, memory, death and desire.
