“The Illustrated Accordion” Call for Entries


The Kalamazoo Book Arts Center (KBAC) announces a call to artists for the non-juried exhibition “The Illustrated Accordion,” which will be held in the KBAC Gallery, May 1, 2015. Open to all emerging and established artists, this 7Th annual exhibition focuses on books created in the accordion form. All media, variations, and interpretations of this style of book will be accepted and included in the exhibition. There is a $15 entry fee to participate.


Artists are limited to one entry for the exhibit. Entries must be received by Monday, April 20 at 5 p.m. Books should be hand delivered or mailed in a padded envelope to the KBAC.

The opening for the exhibition will be May 1st, from 6:00–9:00 p.m., in conjunction with Art Hop. Works will be returned by mail, or available for pick up, after May 31.

Printed Matter is pleased to announce Available to Everyone: Robert Jacks and Printed Matter, curated by Peter Anderson.

The exhibition presents two connected bodies of material: a survey of artists’ books by Australian painter, sculptor and bookmaker Robert Jacks (1942-2014), and an extensive selection of publications drawn from Jacks’ own collection, many of which were purchased from Printed Matter in the early years of the organization.
