Event Description

The Artist's Books of Robert Jacks surveys some 40 years of artists' book production by this well known Australian artist. Central to the exhibition are Jacks' early books, with a number of supporting works showing the link between his books, paintings, sculptures and other works on paper.

The exhibition is accompanied by a comprehensive catalogue, and includes video and other digital documentation providing complete viewing of the contents of many of the books.

the very first artist workshop I ever attended was by Robert Jacks at Wollongong TAFE in 1979. we made little books by using rubber stamps and ink pads. we stapled the pages and bound them with red plastic tape using a little machine that attached the tape.
