Where artists' books and the book arts meet online...
The new title, Collections for the 8th collaboration in this series was suggested by Stephanie. I know some of you have commented in the main collaborative book discussion, but please re-confirm your participation here - it makes hunting easier! The format will remain the same - 10cm high by 40cm long, three fold accordion. Please ensure both sides are worked. Please also post your addresses in my inbox - especially if you have not participated for a bit. Many thanks - I am enjoying these collaborations. We will set the closing date as end July? This gives everyone about three months. If we finish earlier - good going! :-) X

Hello Zea - reason for the set size/format at the moment is to acquire a full set of perhaps 10 collaborations (number undecided) which can be exhibited together. For sure thereafter, change of format is something I have been thinking about. I am working a lot with small A6 pamphlet stitch bound books. I am VERY happy to change the format - even after this set. Set of 8 works for me - as do sets of 10. The reason for sticking to the SAME format/size - which ever we choose is to bind/collate them all together in similar 'packaging'. Could I please have other artists opinions on this??? :-) X
Permalink Reply by Stephanie Turnbull on May 4, 2012 at 18:08 I don't mind mixing it up a bit. However the nice thing about the current format is that it can be displayed in a sculptural way allowing for a view of all pages.
Permalink Reply by Svenja Wahl on May 5, 2012 at 17:03 I'm just starting with making books, so I would be happy if it could be a format not tooo complicated (for a beginner) - but this accordeon format and the A6 pamphlet stitch bound books are both perfectly fine for me. :-)
Permalink Reply by Zea Morvitz on May 8, 2012 at 10:00 Thanks for the explanation. I didn't know you were building towards an exhibition. But I'd love to go to a pamphlet stitched book or some other paged book at some time in the future.
Angie has had to withdraw and I'm sorry to see her go. I am going to send a notice to everyone in the collaborative books, otherwise we will stick with the 8 we have. I will finalize the numbers by the end of the week, as well as send the addresses. Hope everyone is well, life seems to be putting the squeeze on most people, so take care # 8's :-) X
Actually, on second thought, I think we will leave this collaboration to 8 people - it seems appropriate :-) X!
