Artist Books 3.0

Where artists' books and the book arts meet online...

The new title, Collections for the 8th collaboration in this series was suggested by Stephanie. I know some of you have commented in the main collaborative book discussion, but please re-confirm your participation here - it makes hunting easier! The format will remain the same - 10cm high by 40cm long, three fold accordion.  Please ensure both sides are worked. Please also post your addresses in my inbox - especially if you have not participated for a bit.  Many thanks - I am enjoying these collaborations.  We will set the closing date as end July? This gives everyone about three months. If we finish earlier - good going! :-) X

Hi Tiziana,

Thanks so much for your book which arrived safely this morning.  I really like the subject matter, especially here, in the Southern Hemisphere, mid-winter.:)

Hi Tiziana -- Glad to know  it arrived!

Hi Everyone,  I got back from a month or so in France and Spain (tough, I know, but I managed especially after a day at Masquelibros in Madrid, Spain's first ever Artist Book Fair)  to find some wonderful treasures waiting for me.  Thank you so much to Sue for her delightful teapot collections, to Cheryl for the great collection of words from Oscar, the wonderful story from Svenja, to Stephanie for collections of all sorts of things and to Lisa for a beautiful plum book full of mystery.  It has been an inspiring way of re-entering normal life.  Thank you so much.

However, all these goodies have raised one anxious question for me.  Am I on the wrong time line here?  I left New Zealand thinking that the books were all due to be finished by the end of July which I thought I could manage but so many of you have finished already.  If I missed that the deadline was actually earlier, please forgive my mix up.  I'll have the books mailed out to you all by the end of this month.

The dead line IS July end :-) - we're all just eager or using available time - or quick!  - so no stress - hope you had a wonderful holiday :-) XX

Cheryl, I got your great Oscar Wilde-boekie, it's beautiful, I love the texture of this canvas you use!! Blogged it here Thank you :-))

Thank you Svenja - glad it arrived - took a LONG time!! Sometimes to get to Germany takes 4 days and sometimes 4 weeks!  Strange :-) - BUT arrival is excellent either way.  Its a very fine treated canvas the printer uses - I think HUGELY expensive, but well worth it - the fineness of the weave is beautiful.  A bit smooth to me for painting on as I like rough texture where the paint can grip :-) XX

Lisa your wonderful Plum Scullery Maid Collection arrived safely - it's really beautiful. i had enormous fun opening all the little envelopes to see the treasures inside.

That means mine should be here tomorrow - GOOD!! :- X

Thanks Sue!

...and hopefully Cheryl will receive hers soon, too.

Lisa - safe arrival of your wonderful book - I'm nervous to break the seals!! :-) XXX

I love that nervous anticipation of opening envelopes!!!!!

Iuhuuuuu!!!! Yesterday the postman brought 4 bookies!

Tiziana's, Cheryl's, Sue's and Lisa's... They are making a great collection, really wonderfull! Thank you all... :D
