Comment by Martine Rastello on December 8, 2012 at 5:59 Cheryl - when you say "8 folded pages" , do you mean 8 A5 pages folded in 2 that make 16 A6 ? or is it 4 A5 pages folded that make 8 A6 ??
Kathy and Stephanie - don't be cruel (as EP would say !!), you're tempting me ! Of course we don't want to miss any ! Aren't we a bit compulsive too ?
Comment by Kathy Boyle on December 8, 2012 at 4:43 if you do both groups do you have to do 2 different books, March is a good time and my mind is already full of ideas, so I could do both groups, I HATE to miss out anyones!
Comment by Stephanie Turnbull on December 8, 2012 at 2:31 Martine has suggested just what I have been thinking about all afternoon. 2 groups - one who would like to do the accordion format and the others who would like to do the A5 format. This is a NEXT YEAR PROJECT - unless you have got loads of time and nothing to do.... Say March?? Title - 3.0 # 10 Elegy to the Tree. I will start a discussion tomorrow - today exhaustion has just set in :-) XX
Group 1 (A6 format, hard cover, minimum of 8 folded pages) - a BOOK in other words.
Cheryl
Kathy
Laura
Lisa
Stephanie
Second Group (so far) - Accordion format as we have used in the past
Cheryl
Martine
Comment by Martine Rastello on December 7, 2012 at 20:53 Just a word about "Elegy to the tree" : I chose the word elegy instead of tribute because of Motherwell's Elegy to the Spanish Republic which is a fantastic painting !
Comment by Martine Rastello on December 7, 2012 at 20:46 Of course I'm in for group 2 (at least !!)
Comment by Martine Rastello on December 7, 2012 at 20:35 PS : if you choose to change the format to a bigger one, we can make 2 groups with the same theme, can't we ?
It could be useful to know WHO is right now in for
-the tree theme in accordion format
-the tree theme on the A6 format
I think the way to do this is to have 2 groups of 5? If one would like to participate in both groups, fine, otherwise, first 5 in the first group, second 5 in the second group. So, for example:
Group 1
Cheryl
Kathy
Laura
Lisa
Stephanie
Second Group (so far)
Cheryl
Martine (??)
Comment by Martine Rastello on December 7, 2012 at 20:23 Waooh, I see that everybody is on deck again !
I'm glad most of you like my proposition with "Elegy to the tree".
I read all your comments and I agree with different things :
- A bigger book with many pages, hard cover with stitching, is going to be a full time job for quite a while ... unless we only do digital work but what about real etching, painting, etc ... ?
- 15 participants was just terrible timewise !
- I like the accordion format but, of course, I've done only one so I can understand if some of you are bored. But a 10th one ... why not ?
-I'd like to be in OF COURSE but why don't we make groups ? round 8 seems good
My preference would be for either a 10th accordion but it's up to the majority's choice !
Comment by Kathy Boyle on December 7, 2012 at 19:56 I think 10 is too many for the extended format
