The Sheffield International Artist’s Book Prize is a biennial, open submission exhibition, which takes place in Sheffield, during the months of October and November.
The Sheffield International Artist’s Book Prize and Exhibition is open to makers of artists’ books in any format and from anywhere in the world. This year’s prize is supported using public funding by Arts Council England and sponsored by the Open College of the Arts.
The main Exhibition Prize is decided by visitors to the exhibition, who are asked to vote for their favourite entry. All books entered for the Prize will be displayed in the Exhibition in October/November 2013. In addition to the Exhibition Prize, this year we will offer several additional prizes, including a Student Prize and Special Jury Prize. This year’s jury is headed up by Elizabeth James, Senior Librarian, National Art Library Collections, V&A Museum, London. Prizes are made up of cash and an offer of a solo exhibition in Sheffield in 2014.
Closing date for entries: 31st July 2013
Exhibition dates: 5th October - 30th November, 2013
For further information visit the website http://artistsbookprize.co.uk/ where you can find entry forms, rules and further information about the venue, exhibition and submission procedure. Please address any enquiries tobookprize@bankstreetarts.com
Please note: submissions will not be accepted without a completed Entry Form which can only be obtained from the website or by e-mail.
(The Sheffield International Artist’s Book Prize is hosted and organized by Bank Street Arts in Sheffield. Bank Street Arts is an independent, cross-disciplinary arts centre and a registered charity)

UK and International submissions are now being accepted for this juried two day event at the stunning glass fronted Forum building in Norwich city centre on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th May 2013.
The fair offers a unique platform for artists whose work is informed by the physical or conceptual properties of the book and will showcase an eclectic mix of work including traditionally produced limited editions, zines, folio’s and multiples, sculptural or altered books and book based installation. A combination of tables, display panels, plinths, display cases and floor space will be available to create an exciting and varied exhibition of work.
Individuals, Small/Fine Presses and Artists Groups are all eligible to apply. Submitting book artists will be selected by a panel of judges, including Les Bicknell (artist/lecturer MA bookarts, Camberwell), Nicola Dale (award winning book artist) and Tanya Peixoto (director of bookartbookshop, london), all chosen for their expertise in the field of book arts.
This years event will also incorporate the Forum’s ‘Fusion Gallery’ which houses a giant 24m screen for digital and performance based book related artworks. There will be a program of associated events including Storytelling, Poetry Readings and Drop-in workshops running throughout the two day event.

Call for Artist Books
23 Sandy Gallery is looking for unique or limited edition artist books with
a science fiction or surrealist focus. Could be books using sci-fi or
surrealist imagery, illustrations, paintings, or photographs. Or perhaps the
text is science fiction literature, poetry or whatever. It is a wide-open
topic for exploration.
This is not a juried show and no entry fee is involved. The only cost to the
artist is shipping. We are curating a selection of books to round out a
photography show. All books must be for sale and available for exhibit
August 5-September 9.
To submit your books please email Laura Russell at 23sandygallery@gmail.com.
You can send a link a web page or send me a JPG or two. Be sure to tell me a
bit about the work, including its price.
Feel free to drop me a line if you know of anyone you can recommend.
Have a good day,
Laura
