750 old wooden boxes

These are some of the 750 boxes that inspired my current work - 'Exhibits'. Each box is about the size of a paperback book, and each has a stenciled code on the sides. I looked these codes up in the Dewey Decimal System (the classification process they use in libraries). I then found a title that interested me in each of the sections and paired this up with an Agatha Christie novel - i.e. 'Unforgettable Journies to Take Before You Die' with 'Murder on the Orient Express'.
Next I went through the book and took out 'artifact' words that interested me, then I went back and chose linking words and wrote a complete new story. I plotted each word I used by page, line and word number - i.e page 29, line 37, word 12 = bottle (293712). I then went to my collections and chose a bottle to put in the box, having tagged it no.293712 . . .

I love this, the complexity of the thought that is behind it is wonderful, impressive and inspirational.
