Brilliant idea Ellen I don't think I would ever have thought of that - making a mock up outlet. I would have probably tried on a live outlet and ended up with wilder hair than I have now ;-)

An extremely belated comment here, but thanks! I originally attempted to photograph an actual outlet and then, maybe, photoshop the fork in. But the light wasn't right and the outlet photo looked amateurish. So I bought an outlet and plate (they're cheap) and screwed it into a piece of foam core and propped it up in my light box, along with the fork. It was funny at my show--several people, upon seeing this particular picture, became excited and shared their childhood stories of shoving metal objects in power sockets.

This is brilliant Ellen. At first glance I thought it was a real fork in the book - the photograph looks so 3D.
