"Hello Arlyn, I like this new work. Because I recognize the corn husk and a couple of the papers, I can guesstimate the size. They would be wonderful on a very large scale as well. I check in so seldom on this site as it seems to have grown into…"

Exhibition Scheduled

"The Edwards Aquifer" my all-handmade-paper wall piece, earned an invitation to create a new body of work for a solo exhibition at Tinney Contemporary Gallery in Nashville (www.tinneycontemporary.com)

The date is set for October 2012. Right now - two years out - this is a slow-moving idea. But I'm thinking that's the way it should be as I experiment with ways to use paper that I've only dreamed about until this…

Thanks Arlyn! I will be assisting Dan Essig this year so I will definitely be at Shakerag and would love to see you! Will you be participating in his workshop?

I'm so pleased you like the Bostrophedon piece. It's like gathering up all the fun parts of past work and giving them a new voice in an entirely different context. (The title is Scott McCarney's description of a moving binding, as the ox plows) Folding back and forth, the book comes to a close as a 4x4inch folded stack. A delightful diversion.

Thank you so much for your nice words, Arlyn! I especially like your book with the cropped images from older works. It is beautiful. Looking forward to seeing more of your work in here sometime soon...

Arlyn,
Thanks for your input on the Cubric of Curios....it is amazing how we just pick up, hold and end up taking one thing or another...on my website are the things I could not put back in all my six times teaching workshops in Australia. they needed to be honored via silverpoint drawings, then egg tempera....and still I have them...all in a box...all still so very important. But I have promised myself when returning down under this year to leave the bits there.....handle them, but put them down....it will be a test. Probably has to do with the acquisition of "otherness". This whole study of the collection has been very good for me as an artist and a person.
