Aine Scannell commented on Caren Florance's group Textual Production
"Oh and I forgot to add that transferring directly from label backing paper is more likely to work even better.  I purchased a product from IMcClains printmaking supplies (USA) and that works really well. I am finding now that doing on to dry…"

Charles Brownson commented on Caren Florance's group Textual Production
"Aine, thanks for the information about inkjet transfers using acetate, especially the tip that it can be resoaked. This is a way of doing collage that avoids glue and permits overlays. Nice."

Aine Scannell commented on Caren Florance's group Textual Production
"I have just been doing inkjet transfers to Somerset etching paper as well as to Hahnemuhle.  I used the shiny side of the acetate (the non inkjet coated side) and then tried a transfer onto dry paper,  also to soaked and blotted paper (as…"

Those Who Travel

Those Who Travel
is a labour of love for four Canberra artists. An exquisite artists' book of original poetry and images, it was produced voluntarily over the late summer of 2010 by all as an act of solidarity for the author, who has had to endure incredible bouts of illness over the past few years.

The poetry belongs to Dr Sarah Rice, a ceramicist and art theorist, and is a combination of… Continue

I'm teaching a weekend workshop in Bega on 6/7 June about incorporating book forms and ideas into a general artistic practice.

I'm also giving a public talk about books in art at the Bega Regional Library on the night of Thursday 4 June.

Dear Caren, i replied (or thought i did) to your comments but i'm not sure that they worked, i think i may have just commented on my own page. i can't get my head around this modern technology. Anyway, just in case you didn't get them my workshops are in Castlemaine victoria (near Bendigo) (stupid me forgot to put that in the notice). Also i'm having a show in canberra at Beaver galleries in july. re my letterpress, for my latest book i did the letterpress myself. I picked some up in a garage sale. i don't have though all the furniture and qoins and stuff so i had to set it up with magnets and bluetack (luckily i didn't have much text). Previously i'd got it made up from some letterpress guy . David

Hi Caren. What's happening in ACT this year? Not that I need an excuse to visit there but a project would be lovely.
Pleased to say there is a new printmakers group up here just getting off the ground. Can I suggest your name as one we might use for visiting artist workshops?
Are you well?

Thanks Caren. Yes, website is yet to be designed. Gave up my day job in June and felt I was like recouperating after a long illness for most of July and August! Now back with a vengeance...several projects to be finalised early next year (the first books off the press) but will post "in progress" photos soon.
hope all things good for you. Sheree
