you have some very thoughtful work. the 'men don't understand' book/object was also very interesting. i would like to hear more about your work - seems to have a very solid conceptual base.

A venue to discuss different ways to get text into an artist's book. These days there are so many processes: handwriting, inkjet, offset, letterpress, silkscreen, and many more... let's talk about it.

Hello, I am new here but had to answer your solvent transfer question. I just last week experimented with a color copy from an hp inkjet using gin as the solvent and it worked beautifully.

The book in your art

I'm teaching a weekend workshop in Bega on 6/7 June about incorporating book forms and ideas into a general artistic practice.

I'm also giving a public talk about books in art at the Bega Regional Library on the night of Thursday 4 June.

Bega is a small town on the far south coast of NSW in Australia.

Dear Caren, i replied (or thought i did) to your comments but i'm not sure that they worked, i think i may have just commented on my own page. i can't get my head around this modern technology. Anyway, just in case you didn't get them my workshops are in Castlemaine victoria (near Bendigo) (stupid me forgot to put that in the notice). Also i'm having a show in canberra at Beaver galleries in july. re my letterpress, for my latest book i did the letterpress myself. I picked some up in a garage sale. i don't have though all the furniture and qoins and stuff so i had to set it up with magnets and bluetack (luckily i didn't have much text). Previously i'd got it made up from some letterpress guy . David

Hi Caren. What's happening in ACT this year? Not that I need an excuse to visit there but a project would be lovely.
Pleased to say there is a new printmakers group up here just getting off the ground. Can I suggest your name as one we might use for visiting artist workshops?
Are you well?

Dear Caren
I am emailing to see if we can use your drawing of Bruce Dawe for the cover of the English Teachers Association journal ( NSW) - (called mETAphor) as we have an article about him in the journal . We will acknowledge you on the inside page if you approve.
Please email me on mdixon@loreto.nsw.edu.au if we can use this
Thanks

Thanks Caren. Yes, website is yet to be designed. Gave up my day job in June and felt I was like recouperating after a long illness for most of July and August! Now back with a vengeance...several projects to be finalised early next year (the first books off the press) but will post "in progress" photos soon.
hope all things good for you. Sheree
