Traditionally trained in bookbinding in Auckland & Sydney throughout the 1990s, I'm now interested in working on innovative book structures and I'm drawn to the concept of the artists' book.
Hi Carol - Thanks. Aaahhh ... still new to blogging - don't get your hopes up to high lol. Mostly busy keeping up with facebook/twitter networking and all the other websites I'm on...

and I've been pretty active on Red Bubble the last few months as will see by some of my blog posts.
I have a lot of written info alongside each of the works presented there.
And I am now following you on your blog too. Cheers :-)
Hi there Carol,
It is nice to have these connections. It would be great to actually meet up one day. I have not made a book for ages as I have been too busy renovating our old house and getting the garden into some sort of order. I have lots of ideas but so little time.

Aint it the truth! I was fiddling about on Flickr and realised that I hadn't been dating my photos when taken! So I've been editing silly dates, like 2 years before I bought the camera (?) and really, I ought to be working on prints!
Jeepers, Carol! I'm flat out getting everyday stuff finished!
Yes, I expect I will get around to binding some of my prints, but for that to work I really need to print to regular size! I am thinking of a way I could re-bind the travelling sketchbook whenit's finished;those pages will be a uniform size.
Feeling somewhat fraudulent, since I haven't made books in yonks, I signed up,too!
Once the exhibition and the NZ trip are over I plan to work on a half-finished book.
Hi Carol,
I didn't recognize your surname and was wondering who this Carol Cantrell was who was asking to be a "friend". When I saw the name of your press/studio, I realized it was you! This looks like it could be a great forum, and it's lovely that it's Australian-based. Best Wishes,
Amanda
Thanks Carol! How nice to have a warm welcome. I read your blog too, although not as often as I should! I've been having great fun with artist's books and hope to put some pictures up soon. Isn't this network great? Best wishes, Sara
