Hi Jan,
Thanks so much for your comment, I’ve had some really lovely feedback about the book, which has been great! I’ve been meaning to ask how your phd is going, and how the experience has been in general, especially for your family, I’m just wondering if I should start mine next year or wait until my daughter starts school.
Anyway, I hope you managed all right with all that charcoal dust, see you some time soon,
-Genevieve

Background
I am currently doing a PhD in the Printmedia dept. at the ANU. I am researching the possibility of using visual language for cross-cultural dialogue about the Land we live in. I believe it is important to recognise Indigenous Australians presence in the land and also to be open to viewing other world-views. My work is primarily in drawing and printmedia. I constantly make artists books as research tools and occasionally plan ahead. At the moment I am trying to make a very large book with wood cut in shapes from the shadows cast by trees.
