Over thirty years as an active artist, I have shown my work in over twenty solo exhibitions, and nearly one hundred group exhibitions throughout the United States, as well as in Lithuania, Germany, Italy, Bosnia, Australia, New Zealand, and Mali. I am the recipient of numerous awards, grants, and artist residencies, including a Fulbright Senior Research Fellowship and a grant from the UN Special Committee Against Apartheid. My work has been published in many books, journals, magazines, catalogs and news sources. An artist-scholar, I have curated exhibitions, published articles and catalogs, and lectured at conferences, universities, and community venues. dear janet, we have a lot in common, you are right. I was reading your trips to Mali and I understand exact what an experiense it was. Because I made in 2986 the same trip with an camion, same problems. My background is like yours, but I'm raised Catholic. Not Yewish.

And the intention of my work is as yours, but not so exciting big and overwhelming as your work. Your work is great. I make my poems, srtist books and smaller installations.

At this moment I'm bussy with Mali, an exhibition, one day I was sitting in the back of the truck and the driver was riding as your driver. I wanted to make a straight line in my sketchbook to sign my impressions of the road in the desert. I kept my red ochre firm on the paper and the line was moving up and down, in the rhytm of the truck and the road.

I have a new computer, have to make a new website and to update my artist'sbooks 3.0

It's fascinating to see your works in Mali. Warm regards from puck/amsterdam.

`dear Janet, I like your "books" I would see them here in the netherlands. Why are you all living so far away. But I'am really glad to see your works here on the computer.
"The gates in the woods" are totally different from all the books I've seen before.
best regards puck bramlage amsterdam

Hi Janet - Recently I ended up viewing your website inc. posted videos there in depth while I had been randomly web researching for a current art show schedule I am doing.
Thoroughly enjoyed your sharing of your human rich experiences and art evolvement to date. A big thumbs up (and *hugs*) to you for pushing your physical, mental and creative/spiritual boundaries. I experienced an antipodean journey with our own Australian indigenous culture back in the late 70's, which still holds dear to my heart. With best regards, Kerryn.

Printed Matter is pleased to announce Available to Everyone: Robert Jacks and Printed Matter, curated by Peter Anderson.

The exhibition presents two connected bodies of material: a survey of artists’ books by Australian painter, sculptor and bookmaker Robert Jacks (1942-2014), and an extensive selection of publications drawn from Jacks’ own collection, many of which were purchased from Printed Matter in the early years of the organization.
