Best, Susan
Try Janice Braun at Mills College Special Collections (Oakland). Try Sandra Kroupa at University of Washington, Seattle, The Allen Library. She has amassed a collection of artist's books there.
The Getty Center, Research Library in Bel Air is a crap shoot, depending on what they are or aren't buying at the moment. But I would send info to them.
I haven't sold directly to Wellesly, (sp) but would try there.
It would be good to make up a small package, info about the book, maybe a postcard like the one you showed me, with order information. You can also try a pre-publication price, $xxx until some date, to encourage people to buy now. The price goes up after that date.
I would also take your book around to local university collections and show it and leave order information. You probably want local collections to buy your books, starting with this one. Hope this helps.
I'm shocked that Riso may be discontinuing gocco supplies! no never!!
There has been some talk about Riso stopping production on Gocco machines/supplies. I am not sure if it is true, but I have also heard that they will still make supplies up to 5 more years. I have been slowly collecting extra bulbs and screens so I can do what I want with Gocco, just in case. Then again, it might just be a very clever marketing ploy too, you never know :) There is no need to invest in a machine, if you are worried because Pyramid has two small and one big one to rent. You are welcome to try it with my machine to see if you like it. We could meet at Pyramid some time if you want :)
Have a great day!
