i made a new illustrationpopupbook with kids in a kindergarden (4-6 years) of a poem by Ursula Wölfel: Wenn ich einen Garten hätte (If I had a garden) The children are very proud of their self-made book, they love it, they read and read the pages again and again, sometimes it is said that the children are no longer interested in books, stories, but here we can see That's not true and their pleasure keeps me on making books and drawings and poems and all that stuff. The book would be happy if it gets some readers and some feed back on my blog: http://klausvonmirbach.blogspot.de Thanks and best wishes

Good morning everbody,

the japanese tea master Takendo made an exam for the student Joo. Joo had to clean the garden full of foliage. Joo raked so long till the ground was perfekt clean. Then he looked at the garden and then he gave a shake to an bough so that some foliage falled down. Joo passed the exam with distinction.

Hi,

this is my first post on artistbooks.ning. These days I am working on the REGENERATOR PROJEKT from UWE, BOOKARTS, once again thanks to Sarah Brodman. The altered book is written by Sir Martin Conway: The van Eycks and their followers. A 500 pages book. And now I feel in a specific sense every artist is a follower of the van Eycks I use the book as a sketch book, to draw, to record, what happens in our house here in Mönchengladbach, Germany, to tell some storys about my life. I… Continue

Yes I saw the whole book as a video. I really do think that we are working in a very similar way. I think that this was why your work struck a cord with me. I am adding all sorts of pages and papers to my books. I doodle in them while watching TV and I doodle in them while I am reading magazines. Sometimes I spend a lot of time making very intricate pages too. I really like the fact that you have added structure to this kind of work by attempting to finish a book a week. I think some structure and a goal would help me to pull my workings together.

cheers

. . . welcome to the pool Klaus, remember no running or diving. No peeing in the water and it is best to shower before doing your lengths. Once again, shower afterwards to remove the water additives (and everyone else's pee)

Available to everyone: Robert Jacks & Printed Matter

10 September - 24 October 2016

Printed Matter is pleased to announce Available to Everyone: Robert Jacks and Printed Matter, curated by Peter Anderson.

The exhibition presents two connected bodies of material: a survey of artists’ books by Australian painter, sculptor and bookmaker Robert Jacks (1942-2014), and an extensive selection of publications drawn from Jacks’ own collection, many of which were purchased from Printed Matter in the early years of the organization.
