Louis Netter is a practicing illustrator, graphic designer, animator and educator. His illustrations have been published in The Stranger, Stocks and Commodities Magazine, Sub-terrain, The Rockford Review, Cimarron Review, the book Craps with Einstein by Mickey Day, and the book The TV Magic of Quick Fixes published by Benchmark Education Press. He has taught at Parsons School of Design, Westchester Community College, College of New Rochelle and SUNY Purchase. His most recent book is a collection of his artwork and musings called “Life’s Too Short For Nuance.” He has an animated film called Cakeaters and he is working on his next film due in early 2010. The exhibition presents two connected bodies of material: a survey of artists’ books by Australian painter, sculptor and bookmaker Robert Jacks (1942-2014), and an extensive selection of publications drawn from Jacks’ own collection, many of which were purchased from Printed Matter in the early years of the organization.
