- In the past few years, in addition to painting she has taken up writing and illustrating books for children. To this date, a number of her picture books have been published, some of which were translated into English.
She has been a member of the Croatian society of writers for children and young people since 2004... in more than a hundred group and solo exhibitions in Croatia and abroad.

- I see. I worked in theatre for 25 years, making costumes from other people's designs. Even as a designer in theatre, the director has his vision of what the show should look like... So to be free to make my own ideas become a reality, I painted & drew my at home... then when I lived in Minneapolis, there was a book arts center that opened. I went there one day and bought a kit for making a small accordion book... it was so easy! I also write, and have made books for children, but never had anything published by anyone but myself. I sent my illustrations to publishers in New York, but no one ever responded with more than, "they are beautiful, but not what we're looking for"... maybe that's a good thing... I really love making what's in my head, and not what's in someone else's.
