Background
Studied Fine Art in the 60's in Liverpool. Worked with print, textiles, mixed media, paper. Made a first book around 1990. Discovered digital imaging around 1995. Current work involves both books and wall works combining collage and digital print.

Books have been exhibited nationally and Internationally, Including The Holland Paper Bienale, Papier Global, Deggendorf, Germany, Paper and Type, Chiongju, Korea, Leaf and Bound, Eureka College, Illinois, USA

A long and complicated procedure

At last, after around six attempts, I managed to have the E-book 'Iceland stories accepted by Apple for the itunes bookstore. I kept getting two cryptic messages

'compound author, please separate

and 

'Metadata linked to the feed by the ticket' which seems gobbledegook.

Apparently they found it difficult to accept three names with what we had contributed (e.g. images by, sound by and poems by), so I simply put all three names. In the end they put my name as…

Integrating word with image

In late November there was a book launch for our newly published book  'Iceland Stories'. It was hosted by the Icelandic Embassy in London. It was a wonderful event. Our guests and ourselves were given a warm welcome by the Ambassador of Iceland to London, His Excellency, Benedikt Jónsson and members of his staff. If it all sounds very formal - it wasn't. Printed Matter is pleased to announce Available to Everyone: Robert Jacks and Printed Matter, curated by Peter Anderson.

The exhibition presents two connected bodies of material: a survey of artists’ books by Australian painter, sculptor and bookmaker Robert Jacks (1942-2014), and an extensive selection of publications drawn from Jacks’ own collection, many of which were purchased from Printed Matter in the early years of the organization.
