Al-Mutanabbi Street Broadsides - Round Four - Summer 2009
To protest & commemorate the bombing of al-Mutanabbi Street, the centre of bookselling in Baghdad, on March 5th 2007, the Al-Mutanabbi Street Coalition* has been organising readings and other events since April 2007 as fundraisers for Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).

The Artists’ Publishing Part II exhibition will be on show at Bower Ashton Library, School of Creative Arts, University of the West of England, Bristol, from 15th June - 28th July 2009

The second selection of books which form part of the larger New Wave exhibition of artists’ publishing later this year (at Impact Printmaking Conference in September).

The 2009 Agassi Book Arts Prize



The 2009 prize has been awarded by The Centre for Fine Print Research to the MA Multi-disciplinary Printmaking student Tina Hill for her installation Excavating Babel. The piece will be shown at UWE Bristol - School of Creative Arts Degree Show 2009, Saturday 20th - Thursday 25th June, before touring to other UK venues.

Hi Sarah

So nice to meet you at Doverodde Bookart Festival. Usually all bookevents take place so far, far away from me - so going by car for a bit more than a couple of hours that´s nothing!

Your lecture was great - despite of rather disturbing environment. I´m very happy this paper of links etc. was handed out.

Hope to see you again one day out there in the bookart world somewhere.

They must be pretty organised in the Spanish speaking artists' books community?? Good to see that the international community can connect in some way, we are just so far away here in Oz that we have a phrase "The Tyranny of Distance" about being culturally isolated.
