Without Boundaries

What a treat, Australian Bookbinders Exhibition have pulled off a coup. I had no idea what to expect, I was confident the quality would be there and was very pleased to be at the opening. Having originally studied in Sydney and very aware of the few opportunities to see exhibitions of artists books in Sydney ( despite the creative energy there is for them there ), I particularly enjoyed being able to touch so many books. I find one of the strengths of artists books and bookworks, is that many of… Continue

Southern Cross University Artists Book Award

For anyone interested, this award was established to promote artists books in the north coast region ( NSW ) and to make acquisitions for the Southern Cross University Artists Book Collection. Generally a number of artists books are acquired with the acquisition funds rather than one. The award has already established itself as an exhibition that exemplifies the diversity of artists book practice in Austalia after running for 4 years.

Hi Tim, I see your work is in the Australian Bookbinders show in Sydney next week; are you going down for the opening? I got a cheap flight so I'll be there and I'm hoping to catch some exhibitions too. Just put my research proposal in to SCU so fingers crossed something positive happens! See you soon, Sara x

Hi Tim,
Thank you for your comment!
Pity, I couldn't get into your website. I would like to exchange experiences of handmade paper and books.
My regards, Silvia

Thanks Tim, I'm hoping to get there in about 10 days. Great being within a dedicated postgrad bookarts course, but the city is proving to be a noisy distraction from my own producing & making ... so much to see...!

Hi Tim, thanks for your comment. I have been slightly distracted as I am in London. I got a grant to spend some time at Camberwell College of Art and their postgrad Bookarts program. I have joined the discussion group you mentioned and will give it more attention soon, I am planning to visit CFPR soon. PS they have a letterpress workshop here which is very exciting!
