Can we add the word, or at least the concept of opportunity? Not every exhibition possibility is a competition –– if this is a place to list opportunities for artists to exhibit as well as being a listing of competitions.

I have been using an HP Color Laser Jet CP3505dn for the past couple of years and made several books using it. I find that the kind of paper I use is a significant factor in the quality of the book, and that is probably the most important variable i…

Hope I'm not too late to get into this conversation! In this discussion people seem to me to be talking at cross-purposes. Natalie helpfully identified several disciplines or production traditions that are different at their source but which are so…

Thanks for your kind words, Zea. Most of my book have no text. Some have imprinted words from my own handcarved alphabet stamps. I also carve stamps of fish and use it in some of my pieces. I am most interested in structure. I am trying to learn every binding technique I can find. My "content" is in the way my books are meant to be played with, opened and explored. I love the process of making art more than the final result, so my pieces contain alot of engineering and detail. How do you approach your work? Are you a lover of natural things/texture? Are the images on your books' pages telling a story? I enjoy collaborating with my best friend, who is a poet. Her poems are quite personal, so I don't have any pix to show, but I do enjoy deciding how to make a book based on her poetry. Have you ever collaborated on a book art piece?
