Jan/Feb at Hand Held

Hand Held is back in swing for the new year an exciting exhibition program of objects, small works, book and paper arts. Our January exhibition, which continues through to Feb 6th, is Chloe Vallance's beautiful 'Step Lightly between the Branches. Chloe explores the figure in space with intricately detailed pencil drawings on a variety of surfaces from paint swatches to timber. grant from Target

Thanks to a generous grant from Target, the Children’s Museum has launched its newest family literacy program, Story Explorers. The program was created in collaboration with Strafford County Head Start to offer students, parents and teachers a dynamic literacy experience related to the museum’s exhibits. The Story Explorers program includes three educator-led museum visits where children listen to a story and enjoy literacy and learning games related to the book

The Women's Studio Workshop in Rosendale, NY has several postmark deadlines this spring for internships, fellowships, and residencies in our studios for book arts, letterpress, hand papermaking, and printmaking. Printed Matter is pleased to announce Available to Everyone: Robert Jacks and Printed Matter, curated by Peter Anderson.

The exhibition presents two connected bodies of material: a survey of artists’ books by Australian painter, sculptor and bookmaker Robert Jacks (1942-2014), and an extensive selection of publications drawn from Jacks’ own collection, many of which were purchased from Printed Matter in the early years of the organization.
