I made this paper nest for our Christmas tree in an attempt to alleviate my guilt from removing a real nest in our eaves the day before Saturday's blizzard. I thought the nest was empty, but apparently it was home to a pair of very pissed-off birds who are now stalking our front door. I've been throwing crackers and bread crumbs out for them (our bird feeder stands empty). Lots of bird action chez nous...they may be homeless, but at least they're…

Bonhams New York’s December 15th sale will be marked by exceptional diversity, a number of outstanding private collections, and truly one-of-a-kind lots.

We have recently heard the extremely sad news of the death of Tom Trusky, our wonderful friend and hard working referee for The Blue Notebook. Tom was an amazing, gifted, enquiring, generous and highly knowledgeable man, and we will miss him and his wonderful wisdom very much.
His work never stopped, he was so passionate about teaching his students at Boise State University to experiment with artists’ books, promoting the works of the outsider artist James Castle through his…

My Gallery, Hand Held,
is a small gallery in the centre of Melbourne.

The gallery focuses on the hand held object including the artist book- an innately hand held object that requires the viewer to touch in order to view. Alongside books, zines, posters, artist cards and postcards are other hand helds such as jewellery and metals, miniature sculpture and glass. The space is divided into two areas: an exhibition space to be rented by artists for…

Book Art Object" which is a group, a blog and a project all rolled into one.
The group is currently working around a text which is a poem by Australian poet Rosemary Dobson, title "Learned Absence". It is a poem about emptiness after loss - presumably the loss of a…
