Where artists' books and the book arts meet online...
I'll be moving to Germany in April due to my husband's job transfer. We plan
to be there for approximately 3 years. Am very interested in connecting with
the book arts world over there, both in Germany and Europe. I'd like to
continue studying with excellent instructors, attending conferences/fairs,
perhaps exhibiting my work, and ideally find a studio with the equipment
that I am leaving behind (I currently work out of Pyramid Atlantic and a
printmaker's coop at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA).
I've been doing some research already, but I'd love some experienced input.
Any leads, advice, or resources that folks in this forum are willing to share
with me would be much appreciated.
I'll be there Jan. 24 - Feb. 7 house-hunting. It would be helpful to know,
in general, where book arts centers/resources/folks are before we narrow
down our location to live. We'll most likely be focused on the
Frankfurt/Stuttgart/Munich range of locations, with Heidelberg a current
front-runner.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Dear Kelly
Here are a few people and places in Germany that might help. Not all in the area you want to be in but worth visiting or talking to for connections to others that might be nearer.
Best wishes
Sarah
