For me, it has been an efficient and rewarding site. I found exhibition opportunities, I sold a book and I met new and interesting artists. Thank you Robert for all the efforts you put in keeping this site updated.

thanks robert,

I never dreamed my  obsession with artists books would be so all encompassing and so rewarding. I remember when you first launched it and I joined as about the 5th member after Artspace Mackay Libris awards and conference.

I have been involved in many exchange and collaborative projects and been able to keep up with the other opportunities around the world. My local regional gallery is not really interested in the genre of books as if it is all too hard to show them.

True, I would feel alone if it was not for the international community and the opportunity to get back into mail art after being introduced to it by Robert Jacks in 1980.

The work is such high quality and the subjects addressed are so very broad. Artists Books are a crossover between printmaking, sculpture, textiles, calligraphy and letterpress. Artist Books 3.0 allows us to expand all of these skills and to share with the international community.

And they are so much fun!!

It has been great meeting other artists online to network with, having the opportunity to view book arts from all over the world and to enable one to have feed back from comments that others have taken time  to send onto you about your own books. This site has given me information on the many artist book events and competitions that I have followed through with. Many thanks to you Robert.

Making artist's books in France is rather "confidential", not really know by the public, deliberatly ignored by most galleries because it isn't worth moneywise (not many buyers) so bookartists feel rather lonely !

I've had great pleasure and found very rewarding to exchange discussions and work with people who are also involved and passionate by artists' books. And as Cheryl says, artists on this site are very serious about their work and their involvement in the exchanges.

It's a great place for communication and the community is very friendly and alive !

Thanks Robert !

Hi Robert

It is an amazing networking tool for artists and it is brilliant to be able to see what others are up to around the world. The calls for entries are really useful and I have sent work to 4 exhibitions in Australia and Europe in the last 5 months from browsing the opportunities on Artist Books 3.0. It is also great to know where and when exhibitions are happening, and for sharing photos and videos of new work.

And the forums are brilliant for public discussions!

This is the perfect place to make international connections with artists working in the same genre. Its a hugely worthwhile site as the members are serious about their work and the collaborations I have been involved with have been of the highest quality.

Thanks Robert.

Available to everyone: Robert Jacks & Printed Matter

10 September - 24 October 2016

Printed Matter is pleased to announce Available to Everyone: Robert Jacks and Printed Matter, curated by Peter Anderson.

The exhibition presents two connected bodies of material: a survey of artists’ books by Australian painter, sculptor and bookmaker Robert Jacks (1942-2014), and an extensive selection of publications drawn from Jacks’ own collection, many of which were purchased from Printed Matter in the early years of the organization.
