Where artists' books and the book arts meet online...
I am in Minneapolis on an unofficial artist residency at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts! Arrived Friday and I am here until Monday 29th July for the Biennial and to make a new book work and prints based on insects and architecture inspired by the cityscape.
I knew it was going to be good, but from photographs you don't get the scale of it, the space is mind blowing, and the amount of equipment allows plenty of people to work at once without getting in each other's way. At home I do prints and books in different places, but here I could do it all under one roof, print, bind, and even sell. It feels like a real community, there are spaces to chat and have coffee, or work, or sit and read.
Having been here for a few days now, I have uploaded tons of photos to Flickr of the work in progress.
