Artist Books 3.0

Where artists' books and the book arts meet online...

New books and exhibition in Braidwood, NSW, August 2013.

In August this year, Julian Davies owner of the Left Hand Gallery in Braidwood, held an exhibition of printmaking using linocuts and woodcuts titled, Making the Cut.  Invited artists exhibited their work. I was invited to exhibit my miniature artists books.  These have been uploaded.  The books were displayed on plinths in the centre of the room and were a surprising addition to the exhibition.  I was overwhelmed when many of the books sold and thank Julian for this opportunity.  The books in this series were made using gelatine prints, stitching, linocuts and all housed in individual boxes.  Those included were the Haiku Series ( 6 books) , the Forest Series  (1 of 3 books) and the Handheld Series  8 books)  - the latter by far the most popular.

10 September - 24 October 2016

Printed Matter is pleased to announce Available to Everyone: Robert Jacks and Printed Matter, curated by Peter Anderson.

The exhibition presents two connected bodies of material: a survey of artists’ books by Australian painter, sculptor and bookmaker Robert Jacks (1942-2014), and an extensive selection of publications drawn from Jacks’ own collection, many of which were purchased from Printed Matter in the early years of the organization.
