hi natalie, the renovation takes a half year or longer. And I hate it. It takes too much time, and I've no time to travel to Londen at this moment. But I hope
to see you later this year. The discussion about what is an artist book, is something I try to explain the dutch people. In some of the museums I 've given lectures about this. It's in holland not something they know very well. And the first books are from 1870 !! My books are mostly made by amatl paper, selfmade in my studio (or sometimes in the only little village in the world where the nahuatl speaking indigenas already this special paper have made for the Azteks ( the Codex is made from this paper) I try to work on
the same processing with Lokta paper from Nepal. Your books are inspiring and you make so many. I think its a whole library. Do you have some time to sleep? I have, goodnight Natalie.

I just wasted an hour trying to write some dumb analytical thing in response to your remarks on economics. What I lose sight of is what I wanted to do was expand the medium, not parse it into atoms. I need to keep Art Spiegelman's achievement in mind, opening not only new content but audiences, increasing artist's options. I'm in awe of people like de Kooning who are able to see whole new ways. How do they do it?

Thanks for your encouragement. Having learned you were out there I had a look at your work as it appears on the website. I was shocked to find so much there that I could connect with. All the book artists I know come out of a fine printing background; I've never come across stuff that looks like yours. Which prodded me to upload a few pages myself. I'm pretty isolated and am just getting to know some folks. I need to dip into your site again.
