Just a note to let you know I am using your CD of lovely page flipping books as an example in a series of alternative publishing workshops I'm doing for Sunshine Coast Libraries. Have just had a very nice hour or so revisiting all the books on the disc. - will be showing them to a couple of hundred people over June/July :)
Hi Doug, Yeah we have a connection through SCU. I graduated their 2003, as did my colleague Tim. (Pickaxe is a group effort). I came through SCU under Jan, Gary, Tim & Darren. We met somewhere along the lines I think, maybe when I was working under Pickafight Books, maybe through Noreen? I got acquired at SCU Books same year Hitting the Skids was, mine was the foamy book. I've long admired your work, always up to see more.
Dear Doug
Sorry to have not wrote sooner to thank you for the excellent cd of photos, just about to put some on my blog, also thank you for the Zine. Had a hard month, my mother passed away so I went to the UK to sort everything out, just started to get back into the swing of making.
With the names its Vittore Baroni, Susanna Lakner and Rea Nikonova.
Field Study is just Field Study, Republic was a project and KART is just KART.
Will be getting a package of stuff to you this week.
all my best wishes
David
Hi Doug,
Yes, I remember that it was folio (double) pages, folded and glued (jac-paper, I think), half bound with book cloth and printed covered boards added for covers. The pages were thick because they were double thickness.
I guess quite some distance from POD really.
Lyn
Thanks Doug! Look forward to hearing from you then :) Hopefully you and Victoria can come for a look at the studio at the same time - all the best, Jay Dee
